Our story

TALIRA started with a simple idea: practical help should be easier to reach.

Children, families and vulnerable people do not always need a complicated intervention first. Sometimes they need useful support, a clear next step or help reaching the right service.

Why we started

Start with the need in front of us.

TALIRA grew from seeing a common gap. People can face an immediate problem while the support available to them is difficult to find, slow to reach or spread across different organizations and services.

A child may need help staying in school. A family may be struggling with an everyday need that affects a child's wellbeing. Another person may simply need help understanding where to go next.

We started TALIRA to respond to those situations in a practical way. Where we can help directly, we do. Where another service is better placed to help, we work to make that connection useful.

Practical support

Help that responds to a real situation.

Our approach begins by understanding what is actually needed. That may involve education, health and wellbeing, child welfare, family support or another immediate everyday need.

We do not want support to end with information alone. When appropriate and resources are available, TALIRA can provide practical assistance directly.

Working together

Supporting people already doing the work.

TALIRA also works with children's homes, grassroots groups and community organizations that are already supporting people locally.

These organizations often understand their communities well. What they may need is access to resources, volunteers, partnerships, professional support or stronger connections with other services.

We see collaboration as part of the work, not something that happens after it.

Our approach

Direct when possible. Connected when necessary.

Looking ahead

Building useful support that can grow responsibly.

TALIRA is building its work around practical needs, responsible partnerships and clear follow-up. As our programs grow, we want the organization to remain simple in one important way: understand the need, be useful and treat every person with dignity.
